What’s Included in My Free Tax Consultation?
At IRS Fresh Start, we understand that every tax situation is unique and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. That’s why we partner with tax relief companies that carefully tailor services to meet your specific needs – and it all starts with our free tax consultation.
Step 1: Pre-Qualification With a Tax Consultant
Before discussing your available tax relief options, we need to understand your specific tax issue(s). Our tax partner will ask about your tax debt (an estimate is fine), income and employment, and any current agreements you may have with the IRS or your state (if applicable). If you meet the criteria for their services, you’ll be transferred to a dedicated resolution specialist who will work with you to develop a tailored tax relief plan.
Step 2: Tax Relief Program Review & Quote
Once you are pre-qualified for services, our tax partner will proceed with an in-depth interview. During this time, a resolution specialist will gather more information about your situation and determine your eligibility for various tax relief programs. You’ll also be given a quote for their services.
There is absolutely no obligation to purchase any service offered. In fact, many people decide to handle their tax problems on their own. It’s completely up to you!
Can I Request a Consultation By Text or Email?
We understand that not everyone is available to speak during regular business hours. If you prefer to complete your free tax consultation through text or email, we’ll be happy to set that up for you. Simply complete our online request form and send an email to info@irsfreshstart.org letting us know your preferences.
What Happens After My Consultation?
After your free tax consultation, you can choose to move forward with the services offered or take some time to consider your options.
If you decide to work with one of our tax partners, these are the next steps:
Assignment of Tax Analyst: If you proceed with tax relief services, you’ll be sent a contract and a Power of Attorney (POA) form to fill out. This will allow our tax partner to represent you before the IRS or state tax authorities. Once they receive your completed forms, you’ll be assigned a tax analyst (TA) and an onboarding meeting will be scheduled.
Onboarding Meeting: During your onboarding meeting, your tax analyst will request any necessary forms or documentation needed to move forward with your case. This typically includes financial statements, receipts, or other tax documents. They will also answer any questions you may have about the process and provide an estimated timeframe for the completion of your services.
Discovery & Documentation: Upon receipt of your completed POA, your TA will pull your tax records and verify your tax debts. They may also request additional documents or financial statements during this time. Please respond promptly. Any delay may be detrimental to your case.
Resolution: After your TA completes the discovery phase, they will present the best tax relief options for your case. If you agree to the proposed resolution, your assigned licensed tax professional (LTP) will work to get you the best outcome possible. This generally takes anywhere from 3 to 24 months but may be longer depending on the complexity of your case.
Throughout the entire process, you’ll be in constant communication with your assigned tax relief team. Don’t hesitate to call or email us if you have any questions or need assistance.
